Leah + Travis were simply amazing to work with…it was literally nonstop laughter with these two.  We just clicked instantly and everything fell into place.  Leah + Travis are actually planning a destination wedding in September right here in Virginia.  They made a long trek from Florida to have their e-session with us.  Leah + Travis had come up with so many great ideas for their e-session, one of them being a rustic picnic and shucking corn…so we flew with the ideas.  We had Lynn of Sunshowers and Rainshine help with the styling, which was absolute perfection!   So…enjoy this fabulous couple!! :)

]]> http://jodimillerphotographyblog.com/teasers/feed/ 1 Brooke + Will | Engaged! http://jodimillerphotographyblog.com/brooke-will-engaged/ http://jodimillerphotographyblog.com/brooke-will-engaged/#comments Thu, 22 Apr 2010 14:41:00 +0000 Jodi http://jodimillerphotographyblog.com/?p=3705 Brooke has been a dear friend of mine since middle school, back when the macarena + beanie babies were the trend.  We have shared in so many special memories together from camping trips, concerts (we both share in our love of music!), embarrassing book presentations, school lunches, homecoming, prom…the list could go on + on.  Ever since I’ve know Brooke, she has always had this ineffable drive + direction…always made straight A’s, graduated valedictorian from high school + then  top of her class at UVA, + now pursuing a dentistry degree.  But the one thing that stands out most is her demeanor, she is probably one of the sweetest, humblest people I’ve ever known.  When she announced that she was engaged back in December + asked us to photograph her wedding…of course I was beyond excited!!

Will proposed to Brooke with a scavenger hunt back in December.  This particular rock was the end of the hunt where he proposed with the ring + some snap dragons (Brooke’s favorite flower).  So, of course, it was fitting to take pictures at this exact spot :)

Another part of their scavenger hunt, was “the River”…a special place that Brooke’s entire extended family gathers to every week.  There’s an old log cabin on the river that’s been in their family since 1755. I’ve been fortunate enough to attend some of these family gatherings years ago…they are probably some of the warmest, most loving people you’ll ever meet!

They both have perfect smiles…obviously, since they are both studying to be dentists!

We came across this GORGEOUS mustard flower field driving to their e-session + we knew we had to take pictures here (it’s too pretty not to!).  I had no idea these fields could be found in our area, I thought they only existed in California, as you probably saw in our own e-session.

FYI:  This field wasn’t the easiest to maneuver in…Brooke actually traipsed through this in heels!

Photography is probably the best gift we could give them for their wedding + we are so thankful that we will be capturing such an important moment in their lives.  With the e-session, we shot over two days (lucky us!) + so grabbed the delicious golden lighting each evening for their shoot…seriously the locations + lighting were heavenly! We had such a blast hanging out + just goofing around with them (you know typical sibling stuff).  Oh + better yet, we had input into styling their shoot, so we came up with elements that truly represented their relationship :) So check out all of the magic…
