Happy 2012!! We can hardly believe another wedding season has passed and soon enough we will be starting our 2012 season. 2011 brought so many blessings for us…we worked with THE best couples, traveled all over the US and shot our first international wedding, hosted our first workshop with one of our favorite husband/wife duos, Kellan Studios, were published and featured on lots of blogs and magazines, and worked with some incredible vendors as well. We are so grateful for every single opportunity we had this year and are excited to see what’s in store for us in 2012. First off, we wanted to thank our 2011 couples for everything! Seriously, we don’t know how we got so lucky to work with some of the nicest, sweetest, and most creative people this year. We were truly blessed by each one of them.

This last “year in review” post is entirely dedicated to our 2011 wedding clients. Going back through each wedding was rather emotional for us and selecting these images was especially difficult (it’s taken us days), as we have lots of favorite images from this past year. Since we never got to do an e-session with Andrea + Frank before their wedding, they wanted their day after pictures in the style of an engagement session. We chose a couple of spots around the Inn at Perry Cabin that we didn’t get to use on their wedding day, as well as an abandoned gas station that was right down the road. Enjoy this sweet couple!

We had planned our day after session with Deanna + Chris for 8 am the day after their wedding, however, we woke up to a torrential downpour, so we waited it out. Three hours later the sky cleared and we were off to the beach for a splash!

Stephanie and Ben knew right from the beginning that they wanted a “day after” session, and it literally happened the next morning after their wedding. Can you believe that?! We woke up at 4 a.m. (!!) to travel about 1 1/2 hours to the Centennial Valley of Montana. The valley is only accessible via four wheel drive (crazy dirt roads and standing water), so Ben’s dad graciously drove us everywhere. This was our first morning session ever…let’s face it most of our clients don’t want to get up at the break of dawn to shoot pictures, but this session was well worth it!! Seriously, the lighting from this session has probably been the most gorgeous lighting we’ve had a chance to work with…it was perfection! Not only that, we had the most stunning locations to work with…(sigh, I want to live out here…). It was absolutely breathtaking as the sun rose and gently left oranges, pinks, and reds on the nearby mountains. The light continued to be amazing as it rose higher softly wrapping around the Aspens, our last location. We finished the shoot before 8 a.m. and were able to enjoy breakfast with them! Enjoy Steph and Ben’s sunrise session in Montana!
