It’s hard to believe 2011 is wrapping up! We are so overwhelmed with how wonderful our 2011 season turned out. This year we worked with so many lovely couples and experienced lots of amazing weddings and we wanted to recap this year with several posts dedicated to our favorite details, florals, and finally our favorite images from our 2011 engagement sessions and weddings. Today, we share with you our favorite details we experienced and captured this year. Let us just say…we have some pretty talented couples who created the most unique details we’ve witnessed at weddings!
starting off this post is Erin + David’s wedding with these beautiful streamers Erin made specifically for the barn at their wedding location
and check out this beer tub!
another favorite were these handkerchiefs Erin gave as gifts to all of her bridesmaid with a personal brooch on each hankie
We have yet to share with you the Katie + Max’s wedding that was featured in Southern Weddings this year. Let’s just say their wedding had tons of colorful details with lots and lots of hearts
Probably our absolute favorite DIY detail goes to Trishia + Justin for this amazing curtain of soda bottle flowers! I am still over the moon about this curtain…it’s a piece of art!
they also had a wedding logo…two racoons that were engraved on Justin’s ring and screen printed on his groomsmen’s vests
and Trishia looked so lovely with these butterflies in her hair
You might remember Abby + Mark’s wedding that was filled with 1000’s of paper cranes…the perfect altar piece. Oh and how about those hankies for their guests?!
Bee + Patrick chose to do a popcorn, soda, and candy bar in lieu of the traditional cake
Kate + Brad had so many gorgeous details including this cigar and s’more bar
The best themed wedding this year goes to Alli + Mark for creating a wedding based around how they met on the Metro. Loved their use of these bridesmaid clutches, Alli’s personalized hair piece, and the Metro maps scattered around their wedding.
Stephanie + Ben, along with their wedding party, chose to serve their guests dinner and served in style too
loved their use of origami flowers too!
Stephanie + Ben had our favorite wedding location of the year…a ranch outside of West Yellowstone
Deanna + Chris gave each other personalized Chuck Taylors to wear at their wedding
we also loved these plush bride + groom chairs that faced the beach
Andrea + Frank had an intimate destination wedding and chose to send out invitations as handwritten letters to each of their guests
Caitlin + Steven had so many gorgeous details at their wedding, including these hanging lanterns and candle votives…our favorite detail at their wedding!
we also adored Caitlin’s flower halo
and their ceremony entrance…
…and the fact that they collected all of their china for their wedding!
Clare + Chris made these guitar pick and guitar string boutonniere’s for all of their groomsmen
loved the Mr. and Mrs. wedding seats at Elisa + Will’s wedding
We experienced our first wedding parade at Katie + John’s wedding! Their parade was fit with streamers, kazoos, and a flower girl leading their wedding guests with a “Just Married” banner.
Katie incorporated a lot of handmade elements into her wedding, including lots of handmade flowers
Loved these hymnal wreaths Katrina + Eric hung in their church ceremony
and these wooden table numbers!
Erin + Brendan hung several chandeliers in their VA themed reception
they also incorporated these wooden escort cards for each guest
this year we also experienced our first Contra dancing at Rachael + Anton’s wedding reception!
I’m a sucker for cameos (as you can see in our brand). Kirsten + Russell’s wedding (which we have yet to blog) was filled with many antique elements.
We were smitten with this Send Off Station too at Kirsten + Russell’s wedding
Lindsey + Dan had some of our favorite Bride + Groom cakes this year…loved that each cake was personal to their love story
Maggie + Scott collected skeleton keys for all of their guests
How can you forget Perkins + Wickliffe’s Southern affair with tons of Southern traditions? Loved that they included these bell children
loved their natural ceremony altar!
and the best Southern tradition…burying the bourbon
tire swings make the perfect activity for a backyard wedding
we loved all of the bridesmaids hair-dos and hair flowers at Natalie + Michael’s wedding
Neda + Cyrus’ glamorous wedding included beautiful professional lighting that complimented their details
and finally, lots of our couples this year incorporated their furry pets into their wedding, but Natalia + Craig had all three of their dogs act as their flower girls and ring bearers!
